Your role

As a senior software developer at Bio-ITech you will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing products. The purpose is to keep innovating and expanding our software, so our users have an always improving experience with our software products. Besides the accountabilities as stated below, you will be guiding and coaching our junior developers. You will deliver valuable input for the choices we make in architecture, security, and performance. Also, you have a co-responsibility in assuring the code-quality and continuous integration. Your focus will always be on guaranteeing the stability, performance, and security of our products.

  • Implementing projects from our roadmap
  • Improving the codebase
  • Dividing requirements into actionable tasks
  • Creating tests (specs) for features based on requirements
  • Requesting code reviews
  • Writing code according to the style guides
  • Fixing flickering specs
  • Providing (proactive) cutting edge solutions for specific tickets-issues

Who are you?

To ensure that Bio-ITech can continue to deliver top quality, we are looking for candidates who meet at least the following criteria:

  • You are a full-stack web developer with experience in both backend and frontend
  • You are analytical, thorough and pro-active
  • You can deal with a significant amount of autonomy and independence
  • You have proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • You’ve studied in the field of software engineering, computing, bioinformatics, or mathematics
  • You have experience with Vue.js, docker, continuous integration & test automation
  • You also have the essential attitude to help one another to be great (team player)

Working at Bio-ITech

You will work in an international working environment within a continuously growing organization where we will give you will a lot of autonomy. You will be going to work within our Development team, which currently consists of seven team members. Our headquarters is in Groningen, and we have a sales office in Boston, US. Working from Groningen or remote from home is both possible.
